The role
- Lead and coach the business teams through a partnering approach to strengthen and develop risk capability in operational and delivery teams.
- Implement activities and develop information, tools and work collaboratively with delivery teams to embed the Enterprise Risk Management Framework into culture and process.
- Provide risk advice and specialist risk support to the business.
- Lead and promote risk identification, analysis and control activities including the identification of treatment plans and monitoring of delivery of actions.
- Escalation of risk and continuity items in line with the ERMF and supporting implementation plans.
- Support the ongoing embedding of the new Risk and Compliance system.
- Review, development and continuous improvement of the Business Continuity Plans, management of actions and delivery of regular testing in collaboration with wider teams.
- Contribute to maintaining and embedding a Risk Community of Practice to ensure a consistent application of risk practices in the business and support the business through participation in working groups and provide risk input as required
- Management of insurance activities including claims, the relationship with key stakeholders, trending of incidents and claims and continuous improvement of relevant policies and procedures
- Strong influencing, negotiation skills, interpersonal and relationship management skills across different stakeholder groups and the development of skills and confidence in others through leadership and coaching.
- A curious and collaborative mindset with an interest in continuous improvement.
- Experience in risk management or a discipline that has a significant risk element in the role that provides transferable skills.
- Thorough understanding and demonstrated experience applying risk management principles and practices.
- Intermediate to Advanced capabilities in using risk systems, software applications and Excel
- The ability to lead risk workshops and reviews; run training courses, and develop collateral to explain and improve risk understanding
- Willingness to travel to other sites and locations.
- Previous Risk Management Experience in a For-Purpose organisation
- Proven knowledge and understanding using risk systems such as CAMMS etc
- Experience in insurance claims
- Experience delivering training and development activities
- Experience in emergency response drills and activations
- Experience in developing continuity plans and mitigation strategies
