The Scrum Master sits within the Development team. They are responsible for the establishment of and execution against a program plan that delivers to the I&IM business objectives.

The Scrum Master reports into the Delivery Lead and provides leadership to a project delivery pool of both onshore and offshore staff.
  
Role Responsibilities

Manage delivery priorities – through consultation with the Delivery Lead and Product Management, agree on the order of delivery as well as the delivery targets and methodology.
  • Providing refined estimates, according to phase of cycle: SWAG estimates, working with Product team; Initial estimates, based on review with key members of the delivery team; Development estimate, post Sprint Zero analysis
  • Providing delivery plan against the agreed scope, and considering the current phase of the cycle. Works with the Product team to identify key milestones (iterations) for delivery, and plans accordingly
  • Provides accurate and timely reports against the plan, ensuring issues are quickly identified and escalated for mitigation and resolution
  • Facilitate an effectively manage Agile ceremonies. Produce associated artefacts and work through any issues to mitigate and resolve.
  • Enhance the team's self-organisation and build a genuine culture of ownership, responsibility, reflection and improvement.
  
Foster critical thinking and empower team members to take ownership of technical quality and their design choices.
  • Ensuring team uses mandates tools and processes to meet overall quality of deliverables
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to individuals and the team, related to delivery methodology and execution
  • If required, guide and manage multiple Scrum/Scrumban teams (2-3) at the same time with different team sizes, different cultures, co-located and distributed teams
Foster development of team(s) Agile maturity
  • Teach and coach application developers to adopt Continuous Delivery practices such as Test-Driven Development, Specification by Example, Story Mapping, and other Lean/Agile Modelling Techniques
  • Identify and implement agile metrics to measure a team’s Agility and then use those measures to help guide a team forward

  • Experience being a Scrum Master on multiple Scrum teams
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle and DevOps.
  • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
  • Experience teaching and mentoring others in Agile process, including adapting Agile to make it work in various environments in a strong plus
  • Master of JIRA, Confluence etc.
  • Technical Application Development background preferred
