About the role:
We’ve partnered with a fast-growing and innovative mining and services company, to recruit an experienced Assistant Accountant for a full-time, 12-month temporary role. This position involves leading a small team and ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, with a strong focus on accounts payable and receivable.
The Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Lead, mentor and develop the transactional accounting teams (AP and AR)
- Develop and deliver monthly reporting on expense management, aged receivables, and overdue payables
- Oversee the review and reconciliation of AP & AR general ledger accounts
- Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts and balance sheet analysis
- Analyse transactions via the expense management system for accuracy and efficiency
- Model leadership behaviours
- Resolve escalated queries from internal and external stakeholders
- Manage end-to-end reconciliations for key accounts
The successful applicant:
- Proven experience managing AP & AR functions and leading teams
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management and a customer-focused mindset
- Proficiency in large ERP systems
- Demonstrated ability to lead process improvements and support change management
- A collaborative and strategic thinker with a passion for mentoring others
