The Company and the Role
We are proud to be partnering with a leading FMCG player to look for their next Senior Financial Accountant. The business operates as a manufacturer and distributor of some of the most internationally recognizable brands. Backed by international investment and decades of experience in the industry, the company is known for its commitment to quality, brand stewardship, and customer relationships.
  
The Senior Financial Accountant role will suit a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant who enjoys technical accounting and business partnering with senior leaders to make a real impact in the business. You will enjoy working in a collaborative team environment with strong processes and systems in place - in turn, you will bring about a strong mindset of continuous improvement and a sense of accountability.
  
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the month-end close process, including the preparation of financial reports and expense analysis across internal entities, ensuring accurate and timely submission for both internal and corporate reporting.
  • Perform in-depth expense outlook analysis for cost centres, facilitating financial reviews and discussions with the ELT to provide actionable insights.
  • Deliver variance analysis and financial commentary to key stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
  • Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring financial plans are accurate and aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage the Fixed Asset Register and oversee the capital expenditure (Capex) process.
  • Ensure compliance with GST/BAS requirements, including accurate processing and timely reporting.
  • Support the business in meeting various corporate compliance obligations, such as Payroll Tax, FBT, Workers’ Compensation, ABS submissions, Payment Times Reporting, and Treasury requirements.
  • Coordinate audit processes, ensuring timely delivery of all required documentation and responses.
  • Lead and support ad hoc financial analysis and projects as required, contributing to strategic initiatives and business outcomes.
  
Ideal Profile
  • CA/CPA qualified
  • Experience working in a fast-paced FMCG / Consumer Goods environment is a MUST.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Financial Accountant or are a Financial Accountant with at least 5 years' experience
  • You thrive in a collaborative and social environment, and have a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
  • Available to begin the role immediately and able to commit to 12 months contract.
