This role is perfect for a commercially-savvy candidate with proven career experience / a background representing the unique fusion of Operational Internal Audit, Forensic Accounting & possessing a strong Commercial Acumen! This is an exciting newly-created role with a truly iconic, industry-leading Australian organisation that currently exists in order to fill a key, senior leadership role in their finance team. Taking a hands-on approach, this Senior Internal Controls & Compliance Manager role is responsible for reviewing, analysing and auditing commercial contract agreements across the organisation, taking necessary action where necessary. This role is pivotal in establishing a robust framework that these commerical contract agreements can adhere to from a compliance and customer service standpoint. This role will initially commence as a 12 month fixed-term contract with the genuine scope for extension and/or permanency. This role is 4 days work-from-office (or at sites) and 1 day WFH; additionally, there will be minor travel requirements for this role.
The responsibilities
Reporting directly into the CFO; your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);
- Critically analyse and audit contracts & agreements across the various business units to identify potential compliance gaps
- Conduct a comprehensive business review of commercial contract agreements and how they are being administered / managed
- Establish rigorous systems, practices and processes to help support and ensure high standards of performance
- Track and report compliance issues, risks and trends to management; recommending corrective action
- Cross-functionally business partner with a variety of different stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement in systems, reporting, process and efficiency
Ideally, you will be a CA/CPA qualified accounting professional and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as your ability to interact and engage cross-functionally within the business will be crucial to your success. Additionally, you will have a strong background across the combination of operational Internal Audit, Forensic Accounting & having a strong Commercial Acumen. You will enjoy being hands-on with the work and thrive working in a complex environment. Furthermore, any prior career experience working for an Industrial-type organisation will be considered highly advantageous.
