About the Role:

Reporting directly to the Manager e Conveyancing Regulation you will be involved in:
  • Providing and assisting with the provision of strategic advice to the CEO in their role as Queensland nominee on the Australian Registrars’ National Electronic Conveyancing Council (ARNECC), and on other matters relating to the entities regulatory responsibilities and obligations.
  • Representing Queensland on ARNECC working groups, in particular the Australian Registrars’ Working Group (ARWG) and the ARNECC Legal Working Group.
  • Preparing and assisting with the preparation of briefings and advice for the CEO, Registrar of Titles and Minister for Resources, as applicable, on issues relating to their various roles under the Electronic Conveyancing National Law (ECNL) and the agency role under the Queensland Future Fund (Titles Registry) Act 2021.
  • Assisting with the management and oversight of Electronic Lodgement Network Operators and Subscribers in Queensland including contributing to the subscriber compliance examination program
  • Engaging with stakeholders on the operation of, and changes to, the legislative framework, rules, requirements and processes.

About you:
  • Admitted to practice in Queensland 
  • At least 5 years PQE
  • Experience undertaking research and analysis and providing legal advice.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and tasks efficiently, be flexible and able to adapt to changing expectations and requirements. 
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work well independently and collaboratively and with a focus on delivering results
  • Knowledge of property law and legislative frameworks under which the Torrens land titling system and eConveyancing operate in Queensland.
