Our client is a globally acclaimed, publicly listed retail business, with their Melbourne head office located in inner city Melbourne (on site parking provided). They are currently looking for a Senior Payroll Officer to join their high performing and supportive team.
Duties
Reporting to the Payroll Manager and working within a team of 6, you will be responsible for:
- Processing the fortnightly payroll for Australia (approximately 3000 employees across the business in total)
- Processing new starters and terminations
- Award interpretation including the General Retail Award
- Processing annual leave, sick leave and adjustments
- Calculating superannuation and Payroll tax/PAYG
- Payroll reporting
- Handling payroll queries as well as;
- Assisting with payroll governance, risk and compliance
Successful Applicant
- Extensive Payroll experience within a medium/large sized business
- Payroll experience within the retail sector would be highly regarded
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work in a team based environment
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise urgent work
