Our client is seeking a dedicated Senior Payroll Officer to join their expanding team on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, this role focuses on delivering accurate payroll processing, driving ongoing improvements in payroll services, and maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for working within a high-volume and ever-changing payroll environment.
Your key responsibilities will include, however are not limited to:
- End-to-end payroll processing for 3000+ employees in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Managing payroll runs, including STP (Single Touch Payroll), PAYG (Pay As You Go) tax duties, and leave administration.
- Ensuring compliance with complex EBAs, Awards, and relevant payroll legislation.
- Administering salary sacrifice arrangements, superannuation contributions, and redundancy packages.
- Responding to payroll queries via phone and email, ensuring a high level of customer service.
- Contributing to process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the payroll function.
As the suitable candidate you will have demonstrated experience in a Senior Payroll Officer position. You will need to demonstrate that you can work in a collaborative environment where you will be a role model and inspire your colleagues.
- Extensive experience in a full-function payroll position, ideally in a large organisation.
- Proficiency in using a Tier One payroll system (e.g., SAP, Chris21, ADP, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of EBAs, Awards, and payroll-related legislation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to process improvement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with colleagues and external stakeholders.
