Our client is a large scale infrastructure business and market leader in their field. They are currently looking for a Senior Payroll Officer to join their high performing and supportive team.
The Role
Reporting to the Payroll Manager and working within a small payroll team, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring that payroll is processed accurately on a fortnightly and monthly basis for approximately 2,600 employees.
- Responding to a variety of employee payroll queries received through the Payroll Portal and via the Group Payroll Inbox.
- Preparing monthly and annual payroll tax payments to the various State Revenue Offices.
- Preparing monthly and annual reconciliations.
- Interpreting and advising stakeholders on various Awards, Enterprise Agreements and HR Policies, as they relate to payroll.
- Proactively identifying system improvements and managing such improvements through to implementation.
- Performing end user acceptance testing for Payroll system changes.
- Developing system documentation and standards to support payroll processes.
The successful applicant will have
- Prior experience within a similar Senior Payroll Officer position
- Experience with SAP is essential
- Experience with SuccessFactors (EC & ECP) is advantageous
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work in a team based environment
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise urgent work
- Analytical skills and an ability to think outside the box
