Join a rapidly growing construction business at a pivotal stage of expansion in Queensland. Following recent acquisitions and with strong growth forecasts in Brisbane and wider QLD, this is a unique opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to perform end to end payroll in Brisbane.
As the main payroll contact in Brisbane, you will be responsible for the complete processing cycle from onboarding through to termination, ensuring accuracy, compliance and efficiency across all payroll activities. You’ll work closely with a supportive Melbourne-based payroll team while establishing a local payroll presence.
Based in Eight Mile Plains, you will have free onsite parking and flexible work arrangements, including one day per week working from home and flexible hours.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end payroll processing across multiple entities within the construction group
- Process 4–5 weekly pay runs, including timesheets and variations
- Set up new starters, process changes, and manage terminations and final pays including leave and redundancy calculations
- Interpret and apply Awards, EBAs, agreements and relevant legislation
- Calculate and process allowances, overtime and deductions
- Conduct payroll reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies
- Prepare payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end processing
- Manage payroll queries from employees and managers in a timely and professional manner
- Work collaboratively with the Melbourne payroll team and contribute to process improvement initiatives
- Experience in end-to-end payroll processing
- Experience with Employment Hero highly regarded, however not required
- Understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards and compliance requirements
- Confident working autonomously while collaborating with a wider national team
- Outgoing, proactive and solutions-focused mindset
