Our client is a well known Australian retail brand, looking for a new senior payroll officer to join their team finance team in a standalone position. This role will be best suited to someone with extensive payroll experience but is also curious and takes initiative to identify and implement process improvements. This role is open to candidates looking for either part-time or full-time work.
On a day to day basis you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring End to end payroll is processed in a timely manner
- Coordinating the Payroll via third parties for the small teams across the UK, US, Singapore,
Germany and the Netherlands - Payroll compliance reporting and analysis
- Interpreting modern awards, specifically the General Retail Industry Award
- Complete general ledger reconciliations
- Completing lodgments of PAYG and STP
- Support rolling out new Payroll system in partnership with HR
- Identify process improvements and assist with implementation
- End to end payroll experience (including general ledger reconciliations) preferably in a standalone role
- Experience using a large ERP system
- Award interpretation experience is essential, retail strongly preferred
- Experience managing payroll implementation and integration projects is ideal but not essential
- A hands on and proactive attitude to support the payroll function
- Exceptional communication and relationship building skills
