Our client, are a market leader within their industry, due to internal and external growth, the opportunity has opened for a highly driven and experienced Senior Statutory & Compliance Lead to join their dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Statutory & Compliance Lead is responsible for managing the external reporting obligations of the company, including the end-to-end external audit process, taxation (inclusive of Fringe Benefits Tax), payment time reporting, ad-hoc consultations, and mandatory sustainability reporting.
Some duties and responsibilities include, though not limited to:
- Work to support the company’s strategy, values and department objectives to achieve outstanding outcomes
- Ensure Statutory reporting obligations are adhered to
- Ownership of the taxation requirements, including Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), for the company
- Manage the annual external audit process ensuring strong relationship with audit team
- Drive process improvement through building of internal accounting policy framework, working to ensure all internal audit requirements are met
- Improve financial control across the finance team through implementation of best practice finance policies
- Manage technical accounting matters, leveraging interpretation of prevailing accounting standards to form conclusions on appropriate accounting treatment
- Develop knowledge of the wider finance team on statutory and compliance issues and topics
- Champion the company’s mandatory sustainability reporting obligations
- Post graduate and professional accounting membership in a recognised Chartership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
- Minimum five years experience in accounting
- Minimum three years in a similar role to this position description
- Significant experience in Microsoft Office Suite. Including Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint
