About the Position
Reporting to the Group Manager Environment & Regulation, this key position will operationally lead and manage the Environment and Education Unit, as well as the landmark IndigiScapes Environment and Education Centre and Native Botanical Gardens. The position has a significant role in leading change, as well as a focus on environmental policy and strategy development and implementation.

Key to success in the role will be the continued development of Redlands IndigiScapes Environment and Education Centre as a valued facility for promoting and educating the community on conservation and sustainability issues. It will also lead and manage high level strategy, planning and policy development and implementation, to meet Council's environmental and sustainability objectives and outcomes, including the provision of expert advice directly to senior management and Council.

About the Person
Given the broad remit of the position we are seeking an experienced, practical and forward thinking leader who can bring not only a strong environmental grounding, but also effective operational leadership and project management experience. You will be able to demonstrate leading diverse teams of staff and volunteers with a collaborative style. You’re adept at managing a wide variety of stakeholders and have a track record for managing complex programs within budget and on time.

You will bring qualifications in Environmental Studies/Planning or similar, and it will be highly desirable for you to also hold knowledge or qualifications in Project Management, Conservation Management and Sustainability Practices.
