We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Supply Planning & Inventory Manager to lead the planning, scheduling, and inventory functions at a key manufacturing site. This is a pivotal leadership role, managing a team of six planners and overseeing a national inventory portfolio valued at $30M - $40M.
The Opportunity
You will own the end-to-end supply planning and scheduling process, ensuring an optimal balance between stock availability, production capacity, and customer satisfaction. This includes demand planning, raw material procurement, production scheduling, and inventory optimisation, as well as leading continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and minimise waste.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the planning and scheduling teams to deliver operational excellence.
- Manage national inventory levels, reducing obsolescence and optimising stock policies.
- Oversee the S&OP process, production planning, and yarn/raw material ordering.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to balance inventory, transport efficiency, purchase costs, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Drive process improvements that enhance capacity planning, scheduling accuracy, and supply chain performance.
- Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience in supply chain, operations planning, or manufacturing.
- Proven leadership experience with a collaborative, empowering style.
- Demonstrated success in manufacturing environments.
- Strong ERP and planning systems knowledge (Oracle, SAP preferred).
- Exceptional analytical and forecasting skills, with advanced Excel capability.
