National Work Health and Safety (WHS) Advisor Full time. Clayton based. Up to $130,000 plus super. An established national transport and logistics group is seeking a capable WHS Advisor to support safety delivery across its large operational network. This is a hands on role that works closely with state based teams, senior leaders, fleet management, and corporate functions including HR and Legal. The position reports to the National HSEQ Manager, taking ownership of day to day WHS activities. The business operates in a complex environment with subcontracted drivers, specialist freight, and a strong compliance focus. Key responsibilities include: • Maintain the national incident register and identify issues that may require follow up or investigation • Ensure corrective actions, ICAM recommendations, and improvement tasks are completed • Support hazard identification, warehouse inspections, site visits, and toolbox talks • Review and assess the quality of risk assessments and WHS documents to ensure they add real value • Respond to WHS queries from operations teams, account managers, and state leaders • Provide WHS advice on new work feasibility, including manual handling, dangerous goods, and specialised deliveries • Assist with CoR, fatigue, load restraint, DG, and heavy vehicle safety requirements • Support incident investigations and data trend analysis • Deliver training on WHS fundamentals, toolbox content, CoR awareness, SWMS, JSA, and compliance topics • Participate in management meetings and provide monthly WHS updates • Work closely with HR, Legal, fleet, and state operations managers • Assist in the ongoing development of the WHS Management System and safety improvement projects About you: • Experienced WHS generalist with exposure to transport, logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, or other operational environments • Comfortable working with multi state legislation and regulators • Hands on, practical, and confident engaging with frontline teams • Strong communication and relationship building skills • Able to balance day to day WHS delivery with project involvement • Understanding of Subcontractor management, CoR, dangerous goods, fatigue management, or heavy vehicle standards is highly regarded Role details: • Location: Clayton, VIC (full time onsite, with flexibility when required) • Salary: Up to $130,000 base plus super • Travel: Minimal interstate travel • Hours: 8.30 to 5.00 This position suits someone who enjoys being connected to operations, understands the realities of transport risk, and wants to help uplift WHS performance across a fast paced national business.
