About The Business: Our client is a state owned - Financial administration business, dedicated to providing essential services for Victorians who, due to mental illness, injury, or disability, are unable to independently manage their own financial and/or legal affairs. The Role: Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity and stability of our client’s organisation. You will be responsible for leading financial reporting, analysis, and compliance activities, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving process improvements within the finance department. Key tasks will include: Prepare, review, and ensure compliance of financial statements with accounting standards and regulations. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support organizational objectives. Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including variance and performance metrics, for senior management. Manage financial operations, including cash flow, accounts, and general ledger maintenance. Establish and maintain robust internal controls for financial data integrity and security. Coordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary support to auditors. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial operations. Collaborate with stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision-making. Mentor junior finance team members to foster their professional development. Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends for compliance. The Candidate You possess highly developed technical accounting skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Other requirements include: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CA qualification or near completion. Proven experience in financial accounting, preferably within the financial services sector. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
