The Position

A reputable organisation located on the southern end of the Gold Coast is looking for an Accounts Payable Officer to support the finance function. Working closely with the team Manager, this role will play a key part in managing the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring all supplier obligations are met efficiently and accurately.

This role would suit someone who is highly organised, enjoys working with systems and processes, and can comfortably manage competing priorities in a busy environment.

This is a temporary opportunity with an immediate start, initially offered as a 6-month contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Check and validate supplier invoices, ensuring they align with purchase orders, agreements, or approvals
• Apply appropriate general ledger coding to support accurate financial records
• Compile and process payment runs, including uploading files to online banking systems
• Perform supplier statement reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies
• Set up, maintain, and update supplier information within the system
• Ensure payments are processed within agreed timeframes to maintain strong supplier relationships
• Handle enquiries from internal stakeholders and external suppliers regarding invoices, payments, and credits
• Assist with month-end activities such as accounts payable ageing and reporting

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience in an Accounts Payable or comparable accounting role
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Strong ability to prioritise tasks and manage deadlines effectively
• Capable of working autonomously while remaining a collaborative team member
• Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
