Sharp & Carter is proud to partner with a highly regarded funeral services provider in the Moruya district to appoint a Funeral Administrator. This is an opportunity within a close-knit, values-led team recognised for its strong culture, and genuine care for both colleagues and the families they serve.

The Opportunity This role is based in Moruya, with occasional travel to Narooma. All travel time is paid, and kilometres travelled can be claimed.

You will work 9:00am – 4:00pm, and participate in a 24/7 on-call roster shared across the team. Importantly, you are paid for being on standby whether you are required to work or not, with weekend overtime available—creating strong earning potential.

Training & Support - No Experience Required No prior funeral industry experience is required.

You will be fully supported through a structured onboarding and training program, including fully paid training in Sydney. Transfers are always completed in teams of two, and you will never be placed into situations without support.

Typically, there is a 3–6 month training period before exposure to deceased care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide empathetic, professional service to families
  • Arrange funerals in line with family wishes, beliefs and cultural traditions
  • Coordinate funeral services, transfers and internal teams
  • Liaise with clergy, florists, newspapers and external service providers
  • Complete all funeral documentation, contracts and payment processing
  • Provide administrative and reception support
  • Participate in operational duties including funerals, viewings and transfers
  • Contribute positively to a supportive, team-based culture
About You This role will suit someone from any service-driven background, including administration, hospitality, retail, community services or customer-facing roles.

  • High attention to detail
  • Comfort working in an environment involving death and grief
  • A current unrestricted driver’s licence
  • Willingness to obtain (or already hold) Justice of the Peace (NSW/ACT)
