About the Role
As the Allied Health Manager, you will oversee clinical, operational, and workforce functions within the adult inpatient mental health units. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Operations & Nursing, with a professional line to the Deputy Director of Allied Health, you will lead a team of allied health staff, including therapists, assistants, and peer workers, ensuring the delivery of evidence-based, compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Manage staffing, recruitment, leave, and performance; oversee budgets and resource allocation; represent Allied Health in service meetings.
- Clinical Oversight: Ensure the provision of diverse therapeutic interventions; support complex patient care; promote best practice standards.
- Workforce & Development: Drive workforce strategies, supervise staff, facilitate professional growth, and foster a high-performance team environment.
- Quality & Innovation: Lead quality improvement initiatives; support research activities; promote evidence-based practice and service enhancement.
- Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, peer workforce, families, and community partners to optimise patient outcomes.
- Qualifications: Current registration with AHPRA (Occupational Therapist or Social Worker ideally) with a postgraduate qualification in mental health (preferably).
- Experience: Extensive clinical experience in mental health settings, ideally a minimum of 5 years of clinical practice preferred.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead teams, manage change, and develop innovative models of care.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of mental health legislation, policies, and best practices.
