An industry-leading organisation in the manufacturing sector is seeking a Application Development Manager to lead and evolve its internal business applications function. With a strong national footprint and a reputation for innovation, quality, and community impact, this company offers the opportunity to play a key role in shaping how technology supports real business outcomes.
This leadership role sits at the heart of the organisation’s IT function, responsible for the development, integration, and support of internal business applications, excluding ERP and shopfloor systems. It oversees data integration, application governance, and the performance of developed and supported platforms that underpin business operations across Australia.
You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, business units, and technical teams to ensure the application ecosystem is aligned with strategic goals, with a focus on value, usability, and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute the application strategy, from design to support, ensuring alignment with broader tech and business goals.
- Oversee application lifecycle management, including roadmaps, vendor relationships, SLAs, budgets, and risk.
- Lead a team of technical experts across application development, integration, and support.
- Drive performance improvements, security, and governance across in-house and third-party systems.
- Establish frameworks and processes that support continuous improvement and strong user experiences.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure systems are robust, compliant, and effective.
- Maintain oversight of change control, capacity planning, and SOX compliance requirements.
You're a collaborative, hands-on leader who understands both the technical and organisational sides of application delivery. You’re just as comfortable in a room of engineers as you are presenting to executives.
