An established and purpose-driven organisation operating across the environmental and infrastructure space is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their growing finance team. The Role
Reporting to a senior finance leader, this role is a key support function within the finance team, providing hands-on assistance across core finance operations. The position will suit someone early in their accounting career who enjoys variety, ownership of processes and working closely with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- End-to-end accounts payable processing, including invoice management and supplier reconciliations
- Managing weekly payment runs and purchase order queries
- Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Corporate credit card processing and follow-ups
- Supporting month-end close activities
- Assisting with accounts receivable and debtor follow-ups
- Liaising with internal operational teams and external suppliers
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies
- Degree qualified in Accounting or a related discipline
- 2+ years’ experience in an Assistant Accountant or finance operations role
- Strong exposure to accounts payable and cash reconciliations
- CA/CPA qualification (or working toward)
- Confident communicator with the ability to work with non-finance stakeholders
- Well organised, detail-oriented and able to manage competing priorities
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
- A positive, proactive attitude with a desire to learn and grow
