The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this Assistant Management Accountant position will play a key supporting role within the management accounting team. You will assist with the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting, with a strong focus on balance sheet integrity, reconciliations, and month-end processes. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  
  • Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances.
  • Assist with month-end close activities including journals, accruals, prepayments, and reporting schedules.
  • Support the preparation of monthly management reports and analysis.
  • Ensure financial data accuracy through strong controls and reconciliation processes.
  • Assist with audit preparation by compiling supporting documentation and responding to queries.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to obtain information required for reporting and reconciliations.
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency and strengthen financial controls.
  • Support the Finance Manager and wider team on ad-hoc financial tasks and projects.
  
The Candidate
To be successful, you will be a detail-oriented finance professional with prior experience in a similar Assistant Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant role, ideally within a medium to large organisation. You will have strong reconciliation skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and a proactive approach to problem solving.
You are organised, reliable, and collaborative, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities. Progress toward or completion of a CA/CPA qualification will be highly regarded.
