The Role
This Assistant Accountant position plays a key role within the Asset Commercial Team, supporting financial operations across revenue, cost allocation, month-end processes and reporting. Working closely with senior finance leaders, you’ll contribute to accurate financial outcomes, meaningful analysis and improvements to systems and processes.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with end-of-month reporting and ensure accuracy of overhead GL accounts
  • Process motor vehicle revenue, cost allocations and monthly MV billing
  • Manage yard revenue and cost allocations
  • Prepare standing journals including accruals and prepayments
  • Perform monthly inventory management and journals
  • Prepare intercompany invoices in line with internal timetables
  • Complete Fuel Tax Credit allocation and insurance aggregate reconciliations
  • Maintain assigned balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly revenue, cost and damage reports
  • Analyse vehicle revenue/cost variances and prepare commentary
  • Maintain asset register (additions & disposals)
  • Assist with ad hoc reporting and administrative support as needed
The Candidate
  • 3+ years’ experience in finance or accounting support roles
  • Ideally coming from a big four or business services environment
  • Strong Excel skills with exposure to accounting systems (Jobpac desirable)
  • Currently studying or planning to study CPA/CA
  • High attention to detail with strong time-management capability
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across teams
  • Proactive, accountable and comfortable working to deadlines
