About the Position
Reporting to the Manager Environment and Sustainability Policy, this critical leadership position will be responsible for overseeing a specialist team responsible for developing and implementing strategic policies, network plans and projects to protect and enhance the natural environment in respect to biodiversity, waterways and coastal foreshores, that support the achievement of a sustainable region.

Key projects include significant input into the Council’s Award winning Environment and Liveability Strategy; coordination  of Council’s Environmental Levy and the nationally recognised Blue Heart Sunshine Coast floodplain management project.

This position offers a unique opportunity to shape long term environmental and liveability outcomes for the Sunshine Coast region.
  
About the Person
As an accomplished senior environmental professional, you will bring your leadership experience combined with a strong understanding of strategic policy development. Adept at building relationships and working with a wide range of stakeholders, you also understand how to work within a public sector context – whether that be local, state or federal – with an appreciation of the nuances and legislative environment. Excellent communication skills are also critical to success, with the ability to deliver presentations and public speaking engagements to a wide range of audiences.
