About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join a large-scale data and reporting program on a contract basis. This role will focus on supporting the design, development, and delivery of dashboards, reports, and data-driven solutions.
You’ll work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to capture requirements, shape user stories, and ensure the successful transition of products into business-as-usual support. The position suits someone with strong business analysis skills, a background in data/reporting projects, and the ability to partner with stakeholders to turn information challenges into practical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business areas to capture requirements and define MVPs
- Facilitate workshops, wireframing, and validation of requirements
- Document requirements in well-structured user stories and acceptance criteria
- Support developers in interpreting requirements and delivering solutions
- Coordinate UAT resources and assist with data reconciliation and validation
- Support the transition of reporting products into BAU support
- Diagnose information challenges, explore solution options, and recommend improvements
- Contribute to uplift of information governance practices (data ownership, metadata standards, data quality)
- Assist with as-built documentation and repeatable requirement-capturing methods
- 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst, ideally with exposure to government or large enterprise environments
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts and produce clear documentation
- Demonstrated experience eliciting and validating requirements for dashboards, reports, and data products
- Skilled at producing specifications that development teams can confidently deliver from (user stories, mock-ups, wireframes)
- Agile experience (essential), with certification desirable
- Familiarity with SQL Server, Power BI, or similar tools advantageous
- Experience with asset management and data disciplines beneficial
