The Role:

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to expand the freight forwarding business, focusing on building long-term relationships with key clients and identifying new business opportunities across all transport modes (air and ocean).

Duties

Business Development
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within assigned territories
  • Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline through prospecting, calling, and networking
  • Create and present customized logistics solutions to potential clients
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify industry trends and potential opportunities
  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
Client Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in target companies
  • Conduct regular client meetings to understand their logistics needs and challenges
  • Provide strategic advice on supply chain optimization and cost reduction
  • Monitor client satisfaction and address any service issues promptly
Sales Operations
  • Prepare and present professional sales proposals and quotations
  • Negotiate rates, terms, and conditions with clients
  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure smooth implementation of new business
  • Maintain accurate records in the CRM system
  • Develop comprehensive account plans for key clients
Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure service delivery meets client expectations
  • Coordinate with pricing teams to develop competitive yet profitable solutions
  • Participate in regular sales meetings and strategy sessions
  • Share market intelligence and competitor information with the management team
Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field desireable 
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience in freight forwarding or logistics
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly
