A leading education organisation in Western Sydney is seeking an experienced Procurement Category Manager to join their team. This role will play a critical part in ensuring value for money, strategic supplier partnerships, and optimal procurement outcomes that directly support thousands of students and educators across the region.

The Opportunity
Working within a collaborative environment, you will manage a diverse portfolio of direct and indirect categories including facilities, construction, ICT, learning resources, capital works, and services. You’ll partner closely with internal stakeholders to deliver sourcing strategies, drive commercial performance, and support long-term planning across a growing education network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute category strategies to achieve commercial, operational, and risk-management outcomes
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives including tendering, negotiation, and contract award
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure procurement aligns with organisational goals
  • Manage supplier performance and contractual obligations across key categories
  • Analyse spend data and market trends to identify cost-saving and innovation opportunities
  • Support continuous improvement across procurement governance and process maturity
About You
  • Proven background in category management across multiple spend categories
  • Strong stakeholder engagement capability and ability to influence senior leaders
  • Experience working within complex, value-driven organisations (public sector or education highly regarded)
  • Commercial acumen with a pragmatic, outcomes-focused approach
  • Understanding of probity, compliance, and risk in regulated procurement environments
