City Parklands is the premier lifestyle and major event precinct and parklands for Brisbane city, with over 10 million visitors annually. A wholly owned subsidiary of Brisbane City Council (Council), City Parklands manages South Bank and Roma Street Parklands and is accountable for delivering the operational and financial performance objectives set out by Council and the Queensland Government.  The organisation is seeking a visionary CEO who can maximise future commercial partnerships and realise the growth in the services and reach of City Parklands to the benefit of Brisbane as a safe, vibrant, green, and prosperous city for residents and visitors.
  
About the Position
  
Reporting to the City Parklands Board, as Chief Executive Officer you will be responsible for leading and managing the delivery of the South Bank and Roma Street Parklands’ products to the highest quality standards. As CEO, it is envisaged similar amenity and investment models be implemented in other open spaces and activities across the city. Critical to your success will be exceeding operational and financial outcomes relating to park master planning, finance and asset management, standards of service and precinct security as well as ensuring high standards of corporate governance. In addition, the position is responsible for overseeing the marketing and event activation strategies for the parklands and will be a key source of expert advice regarding policy direction, integration of service delivery and the management of sensitive and complex government and community-based issues.

About the Person
  
We are seeking a seasoned executive leader with experience in a complex customer-focused organisation who possesses strong operational and financial management skills. You will have the ability to effectively deliver quality services in a public environment while maintaining high levels of customer service, employee satisfaction and OH&S compliance. In addition, strengths in policy development and integration across multidisciplinary teams and monitoring program effectiveness will be viewed favourably. The ideal person will have a natural leadership style based on the principles of equity, effectiveness, responsiveness, and accountability and will have successfully managed diverse groups of stakeholders including government, private corporations, community groups and the general public.  Highly developed communications skills are essential combined with a relevant tertiary qualification, preferably at a post graduate level.
