Sharp & Carter is proud to partner with a highly respected, Australian-owned industrial manufacturing organisation seeking an accomplished Chief Executive Officer to lead the business through an exciting new phase of commercial expansion. Operating at the intersection of industrial design, manufacturing, and customer solutions, our client has built a reputation over decades for technical excellence, product safety, innovation, and quiet confidence in its craft.
With a deeply tenured workforce, strong market presence, and a compelling pipeline of growth, this is a rare opportunity for a commercially astute CEO to shape and accelerate the next chapter of an already successful business.
About the Organisation
Our client is a long-established engineering and manufacturing business known nationally for designing and producing high-quality, compliant equipment used across diverse industrial applications. The business prides itself on being Australian-owned, technically driven, customer-centric, and culturally grounded in humility, maturity, and engineering excellence. With strong brand equity, multi-channel distribution, and decades of product innovation, the organisation is uniquely positioned for sustained and significant growth.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Board, the CEO will provide strategic leadership and commercial direction, driving growth across core product lines and new market opportunities. A key focus will be elevating growth capability, enhancing customer engagement, strengthening competitive positioning, and executing a clear go-to-market strategy aligned with the organisation’s medium-term ambitions.
This role requires a leader who can bridge engineering depth with commercial acumen, able to work confidently with technical staff while steering the business through disciplined, revenue-led growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership to deliver sustainable, profitable growth across core and adjacent markets.
- Build high-performing sales, marketing, and commercial teams, uplifting capability, discipline, and customer engagement.
- Lead go-to-market strategy for a fast-expanding product portfolio, particularly in hydraulic attachments.
- Deepen relationships across national distributors, industrial end users, and major channel partners.
- Champion innovation, customer experience, product safety, and brand reputation.
- Strengthen operational systems, structure, and governance appropriate for a scaling SME manufacturer.
- Foster a culture of accountability, technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Represent the organisation with credibility at board level, in commercial negotiations, and in strategic partnerships.
You are a seasoned senior executive, ideally a CEO, GM, MD, or commercial executive, with experience leading industrial, engineering, manufacturing, or technical product businesses. You bring a strong blend of commercial fluency and technical appreciation, supported by a proven record in driving revenue growth, leading sales teams, and navigating long, complex B2B sales cycles.
Success in this role will be underpinned by your ability to:
- Drive commercial performance through clarity, pace, and strategic focus.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Build credible relationships across distributors, industrial customers, and major accounts.
- Lead with maturity, humility, and confidence in a practical, grounded engineering culture.
- Deliver results through structured execution rather than high-risk transformation.
- Bring energy, market vision, and enthusiasm for product leadership and customer value.
The incoming CEO will be instrumental in doubling the business through targeted product expansion, enhanced customer engagement, and disciplined growth execution. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a respected, proudly Australian manufacturer into its next era while preserving the cultural strengths that underpin its longstanding success.
