The Role
Reporting to the COO and CEO, the Chief Financial Officer is a pivotal member of the Executive Team and will play a defining role in shaping the company’s financial strategy as it continues its rapid growth trajectory.
This role leads all aspects of financial strategy, performance, governance, capital management, reporting, and risk, ensuring the finance function evolves in line with international expansion, in-house manufacturing, and multi-channel distribution.
You will be responsible for financial planning, treasury, funding, commercial insights, controls, compliance, and system optimisation, including continued enhancement of the company’s ERP environment (NetSuite). As a strategic partner to the Executive Team, you’ll provide clear financial stewardship, commercial clarity, and data-driven decision support across the business.
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Lead financial strategy, long-term planning, scenario modelling, and commercial decision support.
- Translate strategic objectives into measurable financial goals and KPIs across the organisation.
- Advise the Executive Team on investments, expansion, profitability and capital allocation.
- Optimise cash flow, funding strategies and working capital performance.
- Maintain strong banking and financing relationships; manage debt and liquidity.
- Oversee cash forecasting, treasury operations, and FX planning.
- Ensure compliant, audit-ready statutory reporting.
- Strengthen internal controls, governance frameworks, tax compliance and risk management.
- Lead the development and delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packs.
- Oversee BI dashboards, insights platforms and data integrity.
- Lead FP&A to deliver accurate forecasting, scenario analysis and actionable commercial insights.
- Partner with leaders across Operations, Marketing, Sales and Product on margin, pricing and investments.
- Link operational performance to financial outcomes to drive accountability.
- Lead and develop the finance team (Head of Finance, FP&A Manager and broader function).
- Enhance and scale financial systems, with a focus on NetSuite optimisation and automation.
- Drive ongoing process improvement to ensure accuracy, agility and scalability across finance.
You are a proven finance executive with experience leading in complex, high-growth businesses (ideally within the e-commerce, retail or FMCG space). You bring a blend of strategic capability, operational discipline, and hands-on leadership.
You’ll bring:
- CA/CPA qualifications and more than 10 years’ senior finance leadership experience.
- A track record of leading end-to-end finance functions across international entities.
- Strong experience in financial strategy, capital management, treasury, and governance.
- Demonstrated ability to influence executives, boards, and cross-functional leaders.
- Commercial acumen across FMCG, e-commerce, or high-growth / scale-up environments.
- A passion for building high-performing teams and uplifting systems, processes and discipline.
- Executive-level influence within a fast-scaling Melbourne head office e-commerce brand.
