The Role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will take ownership of financial reporting, audit management, and core finance processes. Your initial focus will be strengthening month-end close, implementing robust accrual accounting, and improving forecasting accuracy.
As the business continues to scale, the role will evolve to include broader commercial and strategic support, offering strong long-term career development.
This is a hands-on role suited to a technically strong finance professional looking to step into a broader leadership position.
Responsibilities
- Lead statutory, ASX, and financial reporting obligations
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage month-end close, journals, and balance sheet integrity
- Implement and maintain robust accrual accounting processes
- Deliver consolidated board and management reporting packs
- Lead internal and external audit processes
- Improve budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow modelling
- Manage and develop an offshore accounting resource
- Partner with business leaders to support projects and decision-making
- Drive continuous improvement in systems, processes, and controls
- Strong technical accounting background with listed company exposure
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, evolving environment
- Commercially curious with a desire to grow beyond core reporting
- Confident communicator with senior stakeholder exposure
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- CA / CPA qualified
- 5+ years’ experience in financial accounting, audit, or controllership roles
- Big 4 and/or listed company experience highly regarded
- Strong Excel skills; experience with Xero and consolidation tools desirable
