Sharp & Carter are partnering with a leading organisation in the construction and building materials sector to appoint an experienced Commercial Contracts Manager. This role sits within a high-performing commercial team and plays a critical part in managing contractual risk, supporting major projects, and ensuring strong commercial outcomes across the business.

This position will work closely with senior leadership, project teams, and external stakeholders to manage the full contract lifecycle across both pre-award and post-award phases.

About the role
  • Review and negotiate client and contractor contract terms and conditions, identifying commercial risks and advising project teams accordingly.
  • Provide commercial and contractual guidance to senior management and project teams across multiple major projects.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of projects through contract negotiations, risk assessment, and commercial strategy.
  • Assist with the management of contract variations, claims, disputes, delays, and disruption claims.
  • Work closely with project teams to ensure contractual rights, obligations, and notice periods are understood and adhered to.
  • Liaise with legal, insurance, and project stakeholders to resolve contractual issues and support project delivery.
  • Support contract administration processes and contribute to continuous improvement of contracting procedures and frameworks.
  • Lead or participate in commercial meetings, project reviews, and steering committee sessions.
  • Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance to ensure contract compliance and commercial outcomes.
About You
  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in Contracts Management or Senior Contract Administration within construction, infrastructure, or heavy industrya environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of contract law, contract negotiation, and commercial risk management.
  • Experience managing multiple contract forms within a contracting environment.
  • Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Law, Business or similar.
  • Highly organised with strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercially focused with the ability to work independently and support multiple projects simultaneously.
