About the role
Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager, this newly created leadership role will oversee the financial and operational performance of the function. Based full time on site, this is a critical position driving commercial outcomes, ensuring efficient utilisation of plant and equipment, and leading a capable team across asset management and reporting.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, P&L and balance sheet management for the asset division.
- Deliver accurate monthly financial and commercial reporting, providing insights and analysis to support strategic decisions.
- Lead asset allocation, plant utilisation and people coordination to ensure efficiency across projects.
- Manage supplier and contractor relationships, ensuring compliance, competitive rates and strong commercial outcomes.
- Oversee insurance reporting, renewals and claims management for plant and equipment.
- Drive process improvements and technology adoption to enhance asset profitability and reporting accuracy.
- Lead, develop and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in commerce, accounting, engineering, or similar
- Proven experience in commercial management, asset management, or plant and equipment oversight
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyse, report, and advise on commercial outcomes
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, both internal and external
- Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing and developing teams
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and adaptable to changing business needs
