About the role

This is a key leadership role looking after the finance function of a private hospital reporting to the CEO. Managing a small diverse team, you will be a hands-on operator responsible for the overall financial management of the hospitals from a reporting, cash flow and financial management perspective.

Duties
  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports, including KPIs, forecasts, activity and revenue analysis, and departmental scorecards
  • Deliver monthly reporting packs to the Hospital CEO
  • Management of clinical costings data to ensure uninsured and self-pay quotes incorporate all internal expenses and reflect adequate profit margin.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Provide analytical support to hospital leadership for budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning
  • Develop and deliver proactive reporting and analysis to address emerging issues
  • Collaborate with the CEO to drive financial performance and strategic initiatives
  • Development of business cases for new services or equipment and ongoing evaluation of same.
  • Provide commercial insights to optimise hospital operations, including labour costs, theatre allocations, and patient length of stay.
  • Collaborate with department heads to improve financial performance and efficiency.
  • Develop financial models to support business growth and investment decisions.
  • Supervise hospital accounting staff
  • Oversee accounts payable, capital expenditure, and asset management
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, payroll analysis, and revenue/activity reconciliations
  • Support administrative, billing, and coding teams to ensure financial and operational goals are met.
  • Lead administrative, supply, maintenance, billing, and coding teams
  • Monitor and improve performance against KPIs
  • Oversee debt collection and stock management processes
Skills and Experience
  • CA / CPA Qualified
  • 10+ years finance experience
  • Hospital experience preferred
  • Strong leadership skills with a growth mindset
  • Excellent communication to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Hands-on operator
  • Self-motivated to drive function improvement
