This is a rare opportunity to sit at the intersection of finance and artificial intelligence, embedded within one of Australia's leading data and AI companies. The AI division is growing rapidly, and this newly created role exists to give it the dedicated commercial finance support it needs to scale. You'll act as a true strategic partner to the AI business, serve as an in-house Finance consultant to the AI solutions team, and drive AI-led transformation within the Finance function itself. If you're a commercially sharp finance professional with a genuine curiosity for AI and a desire to do something genuinely different, this role was built for you.
The Responsibilities
- Act as the dedicated Finance Business Partner to the AI division, owning the P&L, managing revenue recognition, and leading monthly close activities
- Build and maintain pricing models for new client engagements, working through project economics, resourcing costs, and profitability on a deal-by-deal basis
- Deliver monthly reporting, variance analysis, and financial insights to senior leadership to support commercial decision-making
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process for the AI division, ensuring alignment with strategic growth objectives
- Partner with the AI solutions team as an internal Finance subject matter expert, contributing to client engagements where finance transformation is a workstream
- Share use cases, challenge thinking, and bring best practice from prior consulting or transformation experience to support the broader team
- Drive automation and process improvement within the Finance function by leveraging the capabilities of the AI division
- Support ad-hoc business case development and financial modelling for strategic initiatives
- A qualified accounting designation (CA, CPA or CIMA)
- A background spanning some combination of finance business partnering, consulting or strategy, and finance transformation
- Strong P&L management and commercial analysis skills, with experience pricing or evaluating complex engagements
- The ability to translate financial concepts for non-finance audiences and hold their own with technical stakeholders
- Genuine curiosity about AI and evidence of applying emerging technology in a finance context
- Experience operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments where not everything is defined and thriving in that
- The gravitas and communication skills to influence senior stakeholders and push back where needed
- Prior exposure to a consulting, professional services, or technology environment is highly regarded
- Newly created, high-visibility role with direct access to senior leadership
- Clear pathway to Senior Manager opportunities within 12–24 months
- Work inside an AI-native organisation and apply cutting-edge capabilities to your own function
- Collaborative, high-performance culture that values curiosity and commercial thinking
- Competitive remuneration package including base, superannuation, and 10% bonus
