The Role
The Finance Branch is responsible for supporting the individual financial management and analysis functions of the company. This includes preparation of monthly management financial statements, analytical commentary for the Board, production of the annual financial statements; and setting policies and procedures for conformance with accounting standards, mandatory legislation and regulations, preparation of budget and working with internal and external stakeholder in a collaborative manner.
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the role of the Company Accountant is a key leadership role within the Finance Division of Muir Group and its subsidiaries.
The purpose of this role is to support the goals of the finance branch by assisting in day-to-day financial activities, month end closing, taxation compliance, analysis, stakeholder management and year end activities, while ensuring business processes are performed efficiently and in accordance with E. E Muir & Sons policies and standard operating procedures. 
This role requires the ability to communicate at all levels of the business and to role model and adhere to company values and behaviours.
  
The Ideal Candidate
CA / CPA qualified and with good technical accounting experience gained out of a reputable finance function, you will enjoy building broad relationships across the business and be willing to roll up your sleeves in a smaller organisation as it continues to grow. With good leadership experience and / or potential - you have a passion for the industry and to be a part of Muir’s growth.
