About the Company

Gladstone Area Water Board (GAWB) owns and operates Awoonga Dam on the Boyne River along with a network of delivery pipelines, water treatment plants and other bulk water distribution infrastructure in the Gladstone region in Central Queensland. GAWB's purpose is to ensure the long and short term water needs of current and future customers are met in ways that are environmentally, socially and commercially sustainable. In addition to the supply and transportation of bulk water, GAWB provides important services to the community, including catchment management, a fish hatchery and recreational facilities.
  
About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and leading a team of seven, this position is accountable for the application of GAWB’s contracts and procurement framework, whilst ensuring compliance with the Qld Government contracts and procurement policies.  Additionally, the role ensures that GAWB’s contracts and procurement activities deliver and maintain the best outcomes for the business.

As a valued business partner, the Contracts and Procurement Manager is accountable for the provision of all contracts and procurement activities and processes applied throughout GAWB, monitoring for compliance and ensuring the effectiveness of the centralised contracts and procurement framework of services.  The role also manages relationships with key suppliers of goods and services.
  
About You
You will be an experienced, well-rounded procurement professional with experience leading similar sized procurement and contracts teams. You will be expert in negotiating contract terms and conditions and monitoring compliance, and also ideally have a working knowledge of relevant Australian commercial law and legislation relevant to statutory bodies and the water industry. Relevant tertiary qualifications will also be well-regarded.
