Our client operates within the FMCG sector and is a well-established business supplying products across both domestic and international markets. The organisation has continued to expand its footprint and is investing in strengthening its procurement capability to better support the needs of the wider business.
The procurement function has recently undergone a transformation, introducing greater structure, governance and commercial focus across the team. This role will form part of that evolving function and play an important role in continuing to build out procurement processes and contract management capability. The position is based in Melbourne’s western suburbs.
Your new role
Reporting into the Procurement Director, this position sits within a developing procurement team with a strong focus on contract management and supplier agreements. A key element of the role will be establishing and driving contract management processes and procedures across the business, bringing greater structure and governance to how agreements are developed, managed and maintained.
While the role will manage a defined category portfolio, the broader objective is to strengthen contract governance and ensure consistent standards are applied across supplier agreements.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Establishing and driving contract management processes and procedures across the function
- Leading the negotiation, drafting and execution of supplier agreements including pricing contracts, supply agreements and service level commitments
- Reviewing and strengthening contract terms to ensure clarity around pricing, delivery, quality standards and risk management
- Implementing stronger governance across the contract lifecycle including storage, review and renewal of agreements
- Managing a defined product category and supporting procurement activities aligned with business requirements
- Partnering with internal stakeholders across sales, finance and operations to ensure agreements support broader business priorities
To be successful in this role you will bring experience within a procurement, sourcing or contract management role, ideally within FMCG. Exposure to negotiating and managing contracts for the supply of ingredients or commodities will be highly regarded.
You will demonstrate:
- Strong experience negotiating and managing supplier contracts, ideally relating to the supply of ingredients or commodities
- Exposure to procurement, category management or sourcing environments
- Experience establishing or improving contract management frameworks, processes or governance
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- The ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach to procurement and contract management
