Sharp & Carter are partnering with a National Organisation to help them find a detail-oriented and proactive Cost Controller to join the Finance team on a contract basis.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in monitoring costs, managing inventory, and providing accurate financial insights to support decision-making.
The Responsibilities:
- Monitor manufacturing production, warehouse, and distribution costs.
- Ensure relevant contracts and jobs are set up fully in our internal financial systems, enabling timely invoicing, cost monitoring and report generation.
- Conduct variance analysis between actual costs and budgets/forecasts.
- Coordinate End of Month requirements for projects.
- Review and verify purchase orders.
- Support and analyse pricing decisions.
- Monitor open purchase orders and track order status to ensure timely delivery.
- Provide ad hoc cost review support to the Financial Controller.
- Monitor inventory movements, stock levels, and stock valuation processes.
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies and investigate variances.
- Previous experience in cost control, management accounting, or a similar role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to start ASAP.
