Our client are Australia’s leading residential land developer, with a proven track record in delivering innovative, family-focused master planned communities across Australia for 30+ years. With continued growth and a number of high-profile developments progressing, they now seek an experienced Development Manager to help drive projects in Melbourne’s West.  

The Development Manager will have responsibility to assist the Regional DM in the implementation of the Company’s property development strategy in accordance with Company objectives as well as drive smaller projects.  

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Support and/or manage procurement of consultants and contractors, manage their performance and administer their agreements
  • Manage negotiations and agreements with development partners, authorities and government agencies, as directed by SDM
  • Develop and manage management plans and ensure we and our contractors meet OH&S obligations
  • Manage staff assisting in the delivery of the projects that you are accountable.
  • Work closely with marketing team to ensure performance, delivery, meeting budget and alignment with strategy
  • Work effectively with our agents, builder partners and other consultants and community members to get the best outcomes for the project at every level
  • Manage the communication of project issues, project performance and team issues to the SDM and/or GM Development
  • Support and/or manage, as directed, feasibility / cash flow models, analyse development options, forecast sales, pricing and delivery and assess project return on investment on assigned developments
  • Develop, monitor, and update project programmes

About You
 This role will suit candidates with the following background and experience:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Property, Planning, Finance, Civil, or Engineering
  • Those with planning experience on land projects are highly encouraged to apply
  • 3+ years demonstratable experience in delivering residential land developments
  • Strong leadership skills and demonstrable experience leading and driving project consultants /teams
  • Strong financial knowledge and previous experience in preparing analysing financial feasibility studies, project cash flows, cash flow management, development programmes, budgets, costs and delivering profits
