The Anglican Church Southern Queensland (ACSQ) is one of 23 Dioceses that form the Anglican Church of Australia. ACSQ works to care for and improve the life of the community through its network of parishes, schools, education, and care services (ECS), community services and ministry education. ACSQ operate 133 parishes, 14 schools, 18 ECS, a theological college and a significant number of residential community and social service programs.  ACSQ has three key spheres of operations: Diocesan Operations (parishes and other ministries, ministry education and supporting finance and other corporate services), Anglican Schools and ECS, and Community Services (Anglicare).
About the Position

Reporting to the General Manager of ACSQ, the Director Insurance, Governance and Risk will be primarily responsible for prudential insurance management across all aspects of ACSQ and its operations.  Specifically, this will include reviewing ACSQ’s business needs, risk exposures and managing the insurance portfolio in line with strategic objectives and risk appetite.  In addition, you will provide high level advice and reporting to the Audit and Risk Committee, execute key strategic projects across risk management, compliance and internal audit functions and ensure ACSQ complies with relevant legislation, regulation, and licensing schemes. This position will lead a close-knit team and will collaborate with other specialised teams in the implementation of relevant policies and procedures.
About the Person

We are seeking a values-based leader who possesses significant experience in insurance administration and claims management. In addition, you will have proven knowledge across risk management, compliance, or quality assurance within a large and diverse organisation.  Ideally you will be familiar using risk reporting software, be a strategic thinker and be able to respectfully challenge the status quo and drive a best practice culture.  Demonstrated skills in the development, implementation and evaluation of risk policies and work practices are considered essential combined with a relevant tertiary qualification.
