They are looking for a Waste and Environment Officer to join their team in the south east of Melbourne.
About the Role
As the Environment Officer you will play a pivotal role in managing and delivering a variety of environmental projects, with a focus on waste management, resource recovery, and sustainability initiatives. Reporting to the Environmental Strategy Manager, the Waste and Environment Officer will lead the implementation of our Waste Strategy, drive education initiatives, and engage stakeholders to promote environmental awareness and behavior change.
To be successful in the role, you will have the capability to educate internal and external stakeholders to increase environmental awareness and promote sustainable practices. You will be able to influence and build relationships with key stakeholders to advance strategic priorities.
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Education, or a related field.
- Proven experience managing projects, setting priorities, and tracking deliverables and budgets.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and networking skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and build capacity.
- Demonstrated experience in planning and delivering education and engagement programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make presentations.
