This is a great opportunity to step into a purpose-built Facilities Manager role at a large-scale food manufacturing site. You'll be the go-to person for everything related to the building itself - from the building structure, amenities to the lawns and surrounding grounds.
With over 700 staff working across a 20,000 sqm site, the facility is under constant pressure - and you'll play a crucial part in keeping it safe, functional and future-ready.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own the day to day upkeep and long-term planning for all building infrastructure (not the machinery, not the utilities) - just the physical site itself.
- Manage the wear and tear that comes from heavy daily cleaning in a high-care food manufacturing environment.
- Work closely with contractors and vendors, ensuring you get competitive quotes and reliable results.
- Be hands-on in identifying aging or failing infrastructure - then identify the lead cause and the fix.
- Partner with the maintenance and engineering teams to deliver capital upgrades - there is significant investment coming into the site - with a lot of upgrade projects lined up.
- Trade-qualified.
- Strong communication skills.
- You are resilient and proactive - you don't just wait for problems to land in your lap.
- You're a positive attitude person who knows how to build good relationships with other people you work with - a big part of this role will require you to work with other teams and departments to identify what the root problem is as well as to fix it.
- You've got a solid understanding of building or site maintenance, if you have experience in manufacturing or similar then this will be highly regarded.
- You take pride in your site and treat it like your own.
You will step into a 25 year old facility that's well established but undergoing major investment - you can make your mark. This is a role with a lot of autonomy where you'll lead your own area and make decisions that matter. You won't just be ticking boxes - you will be solving real problems and driving tangible, long-term improvements.
