My client, a global FMCG company based in Melbourne’s south eastern suburbs, is currently looking for an FP&A analyst for an initial 6-month contract, starting ASAP.

With sales over $400 million this recognisable FMCG business is going from strength to strength. Sharp and Carter have partnered with this business to help grow their finance function. 

Key Accountabilities
 
Supporting the business unit with: 

• Pricing
• Promotions and Trading Terms
• Costing
• NPD
• Manufacturing efficiencies
• Advertising & Promotion spend
• Capex Business Cases
• Overheads Management
• Prepare an insightful monthly reporting pack including a balanced scorecard for the Leadership Team, coordinating both financial and operating performance
• Derive actionable insights from the analysis to improve performance of the Business Unit
• Provide support to various functions including Sales, Category and Marketing with respect to NPD, Pricing, Trade spend and Advertising spend
• Work with theBusiness Unit leadership team in gate keeping NPD to ensure profitable ranging
• Liaise daily with team to keep across decision making and challenge assumptions from a financial perspective
• Play a key role in reviewing the manufacturing site for efficiencies, including those gained from key capital projects.
• Work with the manufacturing team in maintaining labour and overhead model, including review and update as part of the annual budget process

Competencies

• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office in particular, Excel
• Intermediate modelling skills
• Experience in providing financial analysis to support business decision making
• Detail-oriented work habits, strong time management skills and deadline focused
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment, strong communication skills and ability to work with different personalities across the organisation
• Proven ability to work effectively with teams and senior managers, including ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and advisors whilst promoting and supporting change

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Commerce (Finance/Accounting, Administration or similar) required (must be recognised in Australia)
• CA, CPA or equivalent qualification or working towards
• At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within FMCG or similar industry
