An opportunity has arisen for a strong technical all-round Financial Accounting Manager to join a well-established, and respected organisation. Taking a hands-on approach, this role will lead Financial Reporting, taking ownership over the General Ledger with a focus on ensuring the integrity of the balance sheet and improving the controls environment. You will also manage a small team. This is an initial 9-month Fixed Term Contract, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.
The responsibilities
The main duties include:
- Preparation of Statutory Financials
- Ownership of balance sheet and month end reconciliations (full month end process)
- General ledger maintenance
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency and quality of outputs from the finance/accounting team
- Assistance with the collation of budgets, forecasting and operational reporting
- Ownership of payroll reconciliations
- Key contact for external auditors for year-end audits
- Managing and mentoring a small team
- Point of technical excellence & support for direct team on technical accounting matters
- Working closely with the CFO and provide support wherever required
- Other ad-hoc tasks as required
The successful applicant will have
- Qualified ACA/CPA
- Proven experience within both commercial and practice
- Proven technical skills
- Ability to work in both a Hands-on and Strategic capacity
- Good communication skills (oral and written)
