Reporting into the Head of Fianance, responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Managing the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, and reconciliations
- Produce timely and accurate financial statements for the board pack and associated departments reports
- Property and lease accounting activities in line with AASB16
- Oversight of fixed asset accounting, including capitalisation, disposals and maintaining the fixed asset register
- Reviewing work of junior staff and providing technical guidance where needed
- Review & oversight of GRNI & PPV accounts.
- Review the monthly Balance sheet, account, and sub-ledger reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances as required
- Assist in year-end close
- Assist with rolling cashflow forecast
- Monitor project budgets v actual costs to variances and investigate cost drivers.
- Assisting with cost review and business partnering for operational departments
- Calculate monthly BAS lodgements
- Exposure to fuel tax credits would be advantageous
- Assist with providing accurate and timely information to support the annual and special purpose audits, in line with audit plans and schedules
- CA or CPA (will consider working towards with strong experience)
- 7+ Years experience in accounting
- Strong understanding of accounting standards and principles (working knowledge of AASB16 and advantage
- Experience in Pronto
- Advanced Excel skills including lookups and Pivot tables
- Experience in EOY close
- Excellent attention to detail
