The Organisation
Our client is an iconic institution, a world-famous part of the fabric of Melbourne and is central to its community.  Due to an increased workload with a number of projects and changes underway, they are seeking a high-calibre and experienced finance professional to join their Finance team to support the CFO.

The Role 
Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for all day-to-day financial accounting aspects of the business, including the maintenance and reconciliation of ledgers, monthly and weekly financial reporting and the day-to-day reporting for senior management and clients.  You will also use your strong technical skills to help drive efficiencies into the business through automation and process improvements whilst also ensuring that workflow in finance team is monitored and proactively managed.  Your role will include but not be limited to the following duties.
  
  • Lead the year-end audit process, coordinating with external auditors, preparing audit schedules, and addressing audit queries.
  • Preparation of quarterly reporting deliverables and annual financial statements
  • Preparation and completion of monthly reporting requirements (balance sheet and profit/loss)
  • Weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting
  • Completion of month-end
  • Assisting the broader finance team with queries
  • Management of workflow
  • Business partnering with key stakeholders on P/L related inquiries and support key stakeholders in planning and developing business goals 
  • Partner with stakeholder across other departments to ensure timelines are met
  • Implement changes, products/services and improvements as required
  • Ad hoc complex investigations and resolutions.

The Candidate
  • CA or CPA qualified Accountant
  • Chartered or Audit background previous experience leading year-end Audit
  • Strong written and vibrable communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to deal with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Experience using Quickbooks or an ERP is desirable but not essential
  • Microsoft packages, including advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Self-motivated and driven by success
