About the Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Finance Manager is responsible for the full end-to-end finance function, ensuring the integrity of financial processes, managing statutory and compliance obligations, and providing commercial insights to support decision-making across the agency. This is a highly autonomous role suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership, operating in a fast-paced SME environment, and being both strategic and hands-on.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing full month-end close including journals, reconciliations, accruals and revenue recognition
- Maintaining an accurate general ledger and strong internal controls
- Delivering monthly management reporting with clear commentary and insights
- Overseeing all statutory and regulatory lodgments (BAS, FBT, GST, payroll tax, insurances)
- Managing payroll end-to-end via Employment Hero (largely automated)
- Forecasting, budgeting and cash flow management
- Providing commercial insights on client performance, margins and resource planning
- Overseeing AP workflows, supplier management and payment runs
- Working with external accountants on tax returns and corporate reporting
The ideal candidate is a resilient, adaptable finance professional who thrives in an environment that is fast-moving, hands-on and occasionally ad hoc. You will bring strong technical capability alongside commercial understanding, with the confidence to partner with senior leaders and business owners.
Key requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business or Commerce
- CA/CPA qualification preferred
- Experience in a creative, media, digital, consulting or project-based environment
- Ability to operate in a standalone and autonomous role
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
