About the role

In this high-impact role, you’ll be at the centre of the external reporting function, bringing together technical expertise, strategic thinking, and collaboration across finance, legal, and sustainability teams.
You’ll be involved in the preparation of statutory financial statements under AASB for ASIC filings, support SEC reporting under US GAAP, and help integrate emerging sustainability disclosures into the reporting suite. You’ll also provide trusted technical accounting advice, guide policy decisions, and be a key liaison for auditors, advisors, and internal stakeholders.
This role will suit a Big 4 or mid-tier experienced manager or senior manager who comes from an Audit or Technical Advisory background.

Duties

• Drive external reporting excellence: Manage AASB financial statements and support quarterly and year-end US GAAP filings.
• Own the reporting process: Coordinate internal reviews, external audits, and ensure timely, accurate submissions to ASIC and the Board.
• Champion ESG integration: Support the development of sustainability disclosures aligned with new Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards.
• Be the go-to technical expert: Advise on complex transactions, draft accounting position papers, and ensure compliance with AASB, IFRS, and US GAAP.
• Collaborate & influence: Partner with Legal, Risk, Co-Sec, and Finance teams to ensure consistency across external communications.
• Lead improvements: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance transparency, and leverage technology for smarter reporting.
• Mentor and develop: Share your technical expertise with the finance team to build knowledge and capability across the business.

Skills and Experience

• CA/CPA with 6+ years’ experience in external reporting
• Strong technical command of AASB and IFRS, and familiarity with US GAAP
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A collaborative mindset, balancing independence with teamwork under tight deadlines
• Bonus points for experience with Workiva, SAP S/4HANA, SOX, or SEC reporting
• Interest in or exposure to sustainability/ESG reporting and evolving regulatory frameworks
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
