The Role
In this newly created position, the role will be working closely with the Financial Controller / CFO, with the responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Oversee and manage financial reporting, including analysis of subsidiary results and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Lead and develop the General Ledger and Accounts Payable teams, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.
- Coordinate and review the preparation for external audits, implementing audit recommendations and ensuring high-quality documentation.
- Administer the finance ERP system, monitor system efficiencies, and manage cash forecasting and investment requirements.
- Ensure compliance with tax-related returns, insurance renewals, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, advise on key accounting treatments, and manage the monthly and annual close process.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
- Active membership in a professional accounting association (CA or CPA)
- Proven experience in team leadership and staff development
- Over 7 years of experience in a financial accounting role
- Preferably knowledgeable about the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
- Familiarity with Power BI is a plus
